Swindon Speedway announced the signing of Troy Batchelor for the 2009 campaign today.
The Australian joins Leigh Adams and Jurica Pavlic as a confirmed starter.
The twentyone-year-old concluded his debut Abbey Stadium campaign with an Elite league average of 6.94.
Batchelor’s 2008 season was disrupted by a broken elbow sustained in June, but the youngster showed great tenacity to quickly recover from the injury.
His efforts were rewarded at November’s End of Season Dinner and Dance when the Brisbane born racer was presented with the 'Rattrap Award' for most improved rider of the year.

"It really is superb news that Troy will be back at Blunsdon in 2009 and I’m very excited about working with him again," commented team manager Alun Rossiter.
"He brought some real flare to our squad in 2008 and developed as a rider over the course of the season. Generally I thought Troy had an excellent year and I’d like to see him really push on by consistently holding down a heat leader spot next season."
Batchelor, who has returned to his homeland for the Winter, will compete in the 2009 three round Australian Championship which commences at Newcastle Speedway on January 3rd.
